Physical & Safety Requirements 

  • Ability to lift 50–75 lbs and stand for long periods
  • Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination
  • Must wear required PPE (e.g., safety glasses, gloves, welding helmet)
  • Working knowledge of OSHA safety standards and shop safety procedures

Education & Certification

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Technical/vocational training in welding, fabrication, or machining (preferred)
  • Welding certification (e.g., MIG, TIG, Stick)

Skills & Abilities

  • Strong welding skills (MIG, TIG, Stick) with attention to bead quality and penetration
  • Ability to measure, cut, bend, and assemble metal components with precision
  • Proficiency with hand and power tools
  • Familiarity with materials such as steel, stainless steel, and aluminum
  • Understanding of tolerances, gauges, and fabrication techniques 
  • Ability to perform layout, fitting, and finishing operations

Experience

  • 1–3 years of experience in metal fabrication, welding, or a related trade  
  • Experience with fabrication tools such as shears, brakes, grinders, and saws  
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, shop drawings, or CAD plans  

Work Environment & Conditions

  • Climate controlled; but sometimes hot, cold, loud.  
  • Comfortable working in noisy, dusty, or physically demanding environments  
  •  Willing to work over time

  • Strong attention to detail and quality control  
  • Ability to follow instructions and work from technical documents  
  • Good communication and teamwork skills  
  •   Dependable, accountable, punctual, and self-motivated
